Angela Evelyn Bassett (born April 15th in 1961) was an American actress. In the last decade she has been working in film and TV. She's received several awards, among them 16 NAACP Image Awards. Bassett was brought up by her aunt in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was born and raised at home in New York New York. Bassett along with her sister who were about five years old, emigrated from New York to St. Petersburg to live with the mother of their separated father. Bassett chose to become an actor after watching the stage play Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, starring James Earl Jones. In the year 1980, Bassett was graduated from Yale University New Haven Connecticut with a degree in African American studies. She also received a degree from the Yale School of Drama. At Yale she met Courtney B. Vance a actress who was a friend of hers. They married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. at Yale's School of Drama. awarded an M.A. in Fine Arts in African American Studies to Angela Bassett back in 1980. She was a student at the school following: Jordan Park elementary school, Disston Middle School for students in 7th grade, Azalea Middle School for 8th & 9th grades and Boca Ciega High School. Angela Bassett, who plays Ramonda the lead female character in the action adventure film I. Black Panther Wakanda forever 2022.
